Malaysia AI Policy Tracker

The live second act of Malaysian AI governance — the institutions, documents and laws that followed the 2021 roadmap, on one timeline.

Lead body NAIOEthics AIGE 2024Next plan 2026–2030

If the 2021 roadmap was Malaysia’s first act in AI policy, this is the live second act. Since 2023, Malaysian AI governance has moved fast: a new Ministry of Digital, a National AI Office, a set of ethics guidelines, three technology Bills, and a successor five-year plan. This tracker keeps the timeline straight and the documents in one place.

It is independent analysis — not a government page — and it tries to do what official sources rarely do: show the through-line, and be honest about what is in force versus what is still a promise.
