About airmap.my

airmap.my is an independent research archive on artificial intelligence policy in Malaysia. It preserves the country’s first National AI Roadmap, tracks the policy and investment that followed, and offers honest, sourced analysis of how Malaysia’s AI ambitions have translated into reality.

Why this site exists

Malaysia produced an ambitious national AI plan in 2021, then largely moved on from it without ever publishing how it fared. The original roadmap pages went offline; the document itself became hard to find. This site began by preserving that record — the full Playbook, every strategy, the survey data — and grew into something larger: a continuous, independent account of Malaysian AI policy that the fragmented official record does not provide in one place.

How we work

• Public sources, cited. Everything rests on the public record, documented on our sources page.
• Fact separated from analysis. We mark clearly where we move from what is documented to what we conclude from it.
• Honest about silence. Where the government published no data, we say so rather than guess — the gaps are part of the story.
• Attribution, not appropriation. Archived government material is reproduced for research with attribution to its authors; we claim no affiliation.

What we are not

airmap.my is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of MOSTI, the Ministry of Digital, the National AI Office, or any Malaysian government agency. The National AI Roadmap and related documents are publications of their respective authors. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical or investment advice.

Corrections

We aim to be accurate and fair. If you spot an error — a wrong figure, an outdated status, a mischaracterisation — we want to fix it. Corrections and source suggestions are genuinely welcome, and we update pages as the picture changes.
